Replacement cluster
I’m sending in my speedometer cluster soon. Pixels are getting bad. It will be a bit too long turn around. Local Facebook Marketplace guy has a spare cluster for 20 dollars. Can I get away with using this “loaner” cluster? Will it even work? Will it jack up my car? Will it foul up my newly repaired cluster? Maybe a week-10 days total. Thank you.

How good or bad it behaves depends on how close the donor specs were compared to your original vehicle. As VIN's don't match the mileage from donor cluster is not copied to LCM.

Not what you asked, but I believe you can drive without a cluster...at least you could in an E39, and the E53 is based on the E39...
It may not be what you want to do...
