that might be for the flashlite charger ?? I would finish putting things together and it might become obvious.

Could it be for the 12v outlet in the passenger footwell?
Any lessons learned from the dash R and R? I’ve got final stage resistor on order, but my gut tells me that’s not the cause of my weak and squeaky blower.

As for the Blower motor replacement - Its a lot of work but also pricey to have done! I had an estimate for a good indie shop for $1700 including a new BMW motor. Basic labor is around $1200. I'm was able to park it and work on it a few hours a day following a youtube video from "diyardi" note : he does this without removing the console and steering wheel, I found that his method about prying out the lower dash above the center concole rather vague - what needs to be done is to pry the black piece back towards the rear of the car while lifitng on the dash. Also watch all the wiring connectors especially the front speaker so they don't get lost. And putting it back together requires patience, a lot of not-so-nice words and time.

I've done a thread on how to do the blower motor replacement either on here or drivers.co.uk can't remember as I did mine a few months back.
All these fairytale stories about leaving this bit in ect are incorrect. The centre console can be left in the car but it still has to be totally detached too move it rearward so the main dash can be disconnected from it (it becomes obvious when actually doing the job). Yes the dash speaker cables are easy to forget as they are tricky to get to but everything else is kids play - just plug it all back in as you go along. Its an easy job it just needs a bit of time, patience and space to open the doors wide to get the dash out. |

Are harness holes round? Or square? Looks similar to the flashlight connector.

Use the garage door opener power instead. I have my dash cam key powered there. For a rear camera, use the heated seat relay location.
