Dreaded trifecta lights

Anyone with issues on the 4.8is getting the trifecta lights when hitting 3k RPM? I just repaired the air ride system runs great until... 3K rpm then it just throws the codes. I did notice my steering angle sensor not reading.... could that be the culprit? If not might need indy shop

I did upgrade the transfercase motor gear. Shifts silky smooth. These codes only trip when getting to 3k RPM. Also, not all codes trip in this order, some wont trip at all. Thoughs?

SAS could definitely be the reason but if you can list your codes it'll be easier to help.

ABS module is more likely I reckon. Very common. Had to swap mine a few months back as even the diagnostics couldn't read it.

Trifecta seems to usually come down to bad wheel speed sensor, steering angle sensor, or DSC (ABS) module. My personal experience ended up as the last one. I’d get the trifecta after 10 or so minutes of driving, which as it turns out is about how long it takes the DSC module to warm up and short out.

Don’t have a code cheat sheet with me to decipher yours, but I was popping DSC and transmission codes telling me that these modules stopped communicating. And all the wheel speed sensors were looking good on the foxwell.

There are tons of really good trifecta posts here, and on bimmerforums that can help you troubleshoot. If and how the cluster has failed can give some good clues as well if I recall. Hopefully it’s not the DSC module, but if it is you can get a working used piece. I tried used and couldn’t get it to work, so had to buy a new one, which sucked.

Yea man i ran yaw rate with scanner no issues driving. I went deep dove in all the forums. But in my case the X runs great at 2500 RPM or local driving. Once i het that 3K tree lights up. I may go the way of a new steering and dsc 🤑😊

Did you replace the abs sensors or was there a module number you can provide?
