You will need a Foxwell scanner or BMW software (DIS or ISTA) to reset VTG oil wear code - it requires an adaption reset process.

headlights not running test at startup

What year/engine is your car?

Fuse 6 and 15 list adaptive headlight. Note that fuse six also has PDC.

Is your scanner bi directional? I can run a test with mine.

Thanks @workingonit that makes two of us

@Andrewwynne, don't know what bi directional means in this context. but specs are listed by @workingonit above

One odd thing I have come across is the absence of level sensors from the left side of the car. They are installed on the Right side both front and rear. I have owned the car since new, so that's how it came from factory. However, Bentley manual says it should have level sensor on all 4 wheels, weird.

headlights not running test at startup

Four wheel level sensors for two axle air suspension. For rear axle just has one on front right for aiming the headlights.

Bi-directional means it can send commands like "test the headlights".

Seems your scanner can do a couple bi directional items but not much

If you have coil springs four corners i suspect only needs one sensor each axle.

I never looked on my e70 but with the front sensor left I'm betting the rear sensor will also be left.

Can you read the sensor values with scanner? If one doesn't read i would expect the system to disable itself.

That said feels like a wiring problem if the fuse isn't blown that is meant to run the leveling.
