006 N62 E53 Coolant Leak in the Front Engine Area
My water pump has about 25k miles on it. Car has 154k miles. When I park it overnight there is a small coolant leak at the bottom front center of the car. If I look at the bottom of the front of the engine there is a drop of coolant at the crankshaft shaft belt area. I think the seal on the water pump is failing but I am not able to confirm. I did a pressure test and found 2 other leaks and fixed them. Could not find any leaks in the water pump area. Any ideas on what to do next? Thanks. |

I chased a coolant leak on mine recently. Replaced a few parts too. I ended up using a small mirror and light to track it down. It was the water pump. The way it dripped seamed like it was a hose seal failure. Coolant is blue making it easier to find. Check the transmission oil cooler too.

I am thinking of removing the radiator front cover to give more visibility on the pump area then do another pressure test. Will continue to drive the car maybe the issue will get worse which will make it easier to identify.
