Quick thoughts? Is my transmission slipping?
Just started today on my 03 X5 3.0, giving it gas and it's not moving. Car was not stalling but then it did stall once. A few times it seems like it cut power and then came back. I'm about 15 min from home and getting a haircut. 225k miles. Never did a thing to my trans fluid or anything else.

I'm sitting here idling, car starting misfiring and shaking for 30 seconds but didn't turn off. Recovered and now idling fine.

Car is now idling rough, so maybe not the transmission. Also for a slipping trans I assume the rpm would go up, but the acceleration isnt there. My issue seems that rpm and power drop. Hmmm. Ok. Will try and get home

No codes on my OBD2. I let the car run while reading and all was fine. I can't trust it for now, so switching cars.

The main cause of mystery stall and poor idle on m54 is cam position sensor. Rarely ever has code related. The intake cps usually first to go.

Replace the crank sensor, and then I got stuck on my test drive. Turned out it was the fuel pump. 225k miles and 22 years old, not bad at all. Seems like this forum is pretty dead and loaded with ads. Oh well.
