Well I got lucky, ecs tuning agreed to a one time exception, and will give me store credit for this return.
The freezer trick worked as well, and I was able to put the diff gears back together. Here I included some pictures from M54 medium diff, but the setup is exactly the same as on N62 large diff, just parts are bigger. I've already put the 215k diff gears back after freezing them in the freezer, but I wonder if I did it right. I should've taken pictures along the way of disassembly, but I was not expecting to reuse the concave washers and ring gears, as per Ecstuning.com instructions. When it turned out I needed to put back original parts, I couldn't remember how they were lol. There's only 2 washers that go on each side of the large top and bottom gears. I think first I need to install the concave washer, with concave portion toward the flat part of the spider gear. Then install the flat washer, which would then contact the convex side of the first washer. As for the 2 side spider gears (smaller), they only have one thing washer, so you can't go wrong on that. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
