What OBDII reader to use to reset air bag light?

I took the dash apart to replace the fan motor on my 2005 X5 4.4L, and I set off the air bag fault light. Connected battery for a minute to lower tilt steering column with dash bag removed. Thought I could reset it with my BlueDriver reader, but no luck. What readers can I buy to reset? Lower the cost the better since this may only be a one time thing.
Also, I have a full time 4x4 light on, and an occasional battery light on for first minute of start up. Thought this was a steering angle light since I was able to get the 4x4 light off a few times when I turned the wheel stop to stop a few times, but that trick no longer works. What's the fix for that?

Thanks in advance! Jim

Foxwell nt510 or nt710 will reset SRS but also help find what is wrong with 4x4.

Do you have Brake or ABS light also?

Thank you! No brake or ABS light, just the 4x4. I had the trifecta lights on my x5 a few times and on an x3, replaced the plastic actuator gear. Had 2 of the $90 ones from, can't remember the brand (maybe precision?), they didn't last long. The cheap Amazon ones have lasted years on both cars.

My Foxwell NT520Pro with the BWM software clears airbag codes.

Prior to having that, I had bought a $25 tool off eBay that just did BMW airbag codes and nothing else. Worked fine until I got the Foxwell, so I sold it locally.
Might have been this one, B800 sounds right

I thought mine would be a one-time need as well, but that was before I realized I was replacing door window regulators pretty regularly . For that, you remove the side airbag, and might find a need to drive the window up and down. Reconnecting the battery with the airbag gone will set the airbag light. It can be worked around, but I always found it easier to not worry about the light being triggered, and would reset it when done.

I never disconnect the door SRS. I just flip it backwards ( yaw ) and use the back screw through the back hole to hold the bag out of the way. (added bonus you can't shut the door while you have the door apart and possibly no latch gear to open.

I recently purchased the Foxwell NT530 Plus for my E53 3.0i. It kept coming up as the recommended one, and being the latest model, it seems more futureproof. It can read and erase codes on most of the systems 🙂
