Can I open handless door from inside if door shut (but door card has been removed)

Hello to all, right cut to the chase I will remove the door card ,outer door handle, to get to the door handle carrier(busted).

I will apply the st.steel zip tie fix to the carrier(did the drivers side and is holding up well a year and a half on) and as I need time to fix the old carrier and car to be driveable with a shut door of course, wondering if still possible to open the door from the inside though to carry out the rest of the repair at a later time, i.e re-add all the bits removed (door card,handle and repaired carrier)?

Cant for the life of me recall when I did the drivers side if I accidently shut door with all the aforementioned removed and was subsequently able to re-open.
