Help with Intake Air Temp Sensor

Can anyone please help me with the Intake air Temp Sensor part number and its location? I have a 2005 4.8is. I am getting P0111 with rough Idle on start up when cold.

I am not getting much info when search.

Thanks

Isn’t it in one of the brake cooling air ducts?

No, that's the outside air temp. On the M54 it's 1/2 way back in the intake, not sure about the V-8s.

Might be built into the MAF on the N62?

So the Ambient temp sensor is the same as the Intake Air temp sensor?

No, I think that was a misunderstanding.

I don't think this is correct - this is the intake sensor for the M54 engine (on the 3.0i), and this part is NLA - superceded by a new part - 13629899008.

As I mentioned earlier, I don't think the N62 has a discrete intake air temp sensor - the DME takes an air temp reading from an NTC sensor in the MAF. BMW tech documents indicate this is the case.
