M62tu Vanos noise

Has anyone tried one of those fluids that swell up rubber seals to stop oil leaks as a way to quieten Vanos noise? Mine has a slight leak from the rear main seal and the Vanos is a bit rattly when hot. Just wondering if it would work.

ATP AT-205 does exactly as you describe. When my oil sensor seal failed I was 800 miles from home. I put in 1.5 bottles and the leak slowed 80%

I’ve rebuilt vanos seals. There’s one seal might be helped with this stuff but the main seal is similar to Teflon it wind won’t be. I think there’s a rubber o-ring backing it so I would definitely try it. There are no solids to cause a problem.

Project farm tested a dozen or so products and at-205 came out very high marks.
