Masospaghetti is on a distinguished road
Unfortunately, the noise is still there - so the bearing probably wasn't bad after all! It's a squeal/squeak sound that varies with road speed and only when turning left, and intermittent. Maybe the rear bearing is the problem? Will have to get in there and investigate further.

Some pics from the job - not super exciting, but shows how I did it. Also as a bonus, you can see how bad my upper strut bushing was (I replaced my struts at the same time I did my bearing job). The tools came from McMaster; the upgraded fine pitch threaded rod is 90322A199; washers 98023A121; nuts 90565A340.
