What's a door card? Are you talking about the thick goop holding on the vapor barrier?

I usually cut though the butyl with extended snap knife and then heat with lighter or heat gun to reactivate and seal back up

The door card is the inside of the door. The part with the door handles, arm rest, etc

The black goo is butyl adhesive. It is available on line. I bought a tube of it that was caulking gun size. I used it on the drivers door panel that someone else had been into. They had removed the original butyl and applied butyl tape. It doesn't work very well IMO. That's why I peeled it off and used the liquid butyl. I've had to go back in there again and it worked just like the original. Stretch it a little, cut it with a knife, then stick it back together when done. It's essentially self healing.
