50 bucks to fill up

Filled up the X5 4.4 from empty to full for the first time today. At $2.18 per gallon, it took 50 bucks to fill her up. That was a shocking experience. The X5 will definitely only be a weekend vehicle from now on!

You got it lucky...we are at $2.80 per gallon already here in the west coast. Some areas have already past the $3 bucks range.

You guys are lucky..

Working back, on those costs, we would be paying around 73cents/litre AUD here in Australia. Presently we are paying between, 1.00 and 1.20 per litre.(AUD)
Conversions -
3.8l / US Gal
.78 US / 1 AUD

It always costs between $80.00 - $100.00 to fill her up.

Mat

2.18, I couldn't get regular for 2.18. I get 2.40 as my price tag.

Right On! We have a "younger in history", but similar 'robbing goverment' here in the colonies...they jes' haven't buckled to ripping us totally on the per gal tax, yet. They have other methods of cleaning us out and they misuse the dough as badly as your sys. does.

Otoh, in the scheme of things, the US's $50-60+ fillup is putting a lil'dent in ma&pa middle class, but it's mostly psychological for the noveau-riche that can afford $60g cars, imo. That cute bottled water most buy, is still way more per gal than gas.

Yeah, I hit the $50 Dollar mark a few weeks ago, actually. Consider yourself lucky. :-)

Like other posts have mentioned, we still have some of the cheapest gas in the world. If I am willing to pay two bucks for a cup of coffee, I am willing to pay 2.25 for a gallon of gas.
