AFE Cold Air Intake

so question...what is a good price for this intake...and how much are they new? Sry for the noob questions but i've searched and im not too familiar with the E53...I'm an E46 guy originially.

The cheapest source I have found is EVOSPORT. They quoted me $273.60 for an AFE for my 4.6

The 4.4 AFE is the same one you would purhase for a 4.6 or 4.8, but there are a few items inside and attached to the stock 4.6 intake that have to be moved or modded. I think most people on here move the items. But I'm trying to purchase an AFE and make a few mods to it so I dont have to move anything, just reinstall them on the AFE intake.

Hi, yeah the pipe that runs to the air pump needs to be moved and filtered as where it is placed on the stock system, it sucks in filtered air. So it needs that small filter you mentioned, that I already have. The other item is the small vacume item that opens and closes under acceleration. This could probably be moded or deleted, but I want to put together a mod that still keeps both on the AFE intake box, just really to have everything in place and tidy.

do you know how small the filter is?
I have a mini filter from BMC, i think its maybe 1/2 - 1 inch in diameter...will this work?

I'm gonna try a different route with my intake...and if i fail...i'll just get the AFE.

Anyone know how much room we have: from the HFM to the edge of the fender? The intake i'm looking at is approx 8-9 inches long...and was worried it wont fit. I assume the inlet diameter is 3.5inches?

I have a 3.0i nad I installed an AFE intake recently and it seemed to fit perfectly. I do not understand why you need to move the intake tube around. Is this something I need to do?
