Alternator

I've run some related searches on the the subject and found nothing.
How hard is it to change the alternator on a 2001 4.4.
Or should I take it in the %$^ and let the dealer charge me the 1400cnd?

Looks like standard procedure. Might need to be below car for final removal.

Disconnect battery-Belt off-Wiring off-Remove mounting bolt-Replace & Reconnect.
I hope this link will give you a better view.

The 2001 4.4i alternator is water cooled, i.e. it mounts IN the engine block where coolant circulates around it. Although I've not had to change mine out, it would not be as simple a "regular" alternator.

I didnt want to try myself so I towed it to the dealer today.
The alternator was about 1200cnd everywhere I phoned and the labour is only 150. So i might as well let the dealer take care of it.

Look at www.autohausaz.com I saw a rebuilt alt there

Not that it helps you now that you have it at the dealer, but
https://www.autohausaz.com

It was for $350, but says its on back order.

Just some info.
