Armrest Broken

I'd like some help repairing my armrest. The flip up top part concealing the small storage compartment will not latch. I'd like to take it apart and see what's causing the problem but I can't get the tray out. I'm not talking about the larger compartment which fits CD's. I'm refering to the smaller compartment on top of it.

How do I dissasseble the latch to see what is wrong? Thanks in advance

actually i have the same problem, it does not lock, it opens without presing the button. I tried opening it, but i got to the point where i could not open the top part, and i took the whole thing apart. sorry man i can not help you.

Did you try removing the bottom cover from the main lid to see if you can see what's happening with the latch mechanism? Should be just some screws to remove to access that area.

I tried that first. I removed the 3 allen nuts but it only allows access to the lower latch assembly for the larger storage box below the one I'm having trouble with.

I think that I need to get that small tray out in the middle in order to get access, but I have been unsuccessfull.

Try slipping some old credit cards down the sides to disengage the tabs. 4 in total (2 on each side, near the front and back)
