Talking ACTIVATING AUX HEATER

I have just set my factory fitted aux heater up with remote control for £35.00!!!! There is an excellent thread in the 'how to' section of x5drivers.co.uk , all credit to the guys who posted it, I am just passing on the info.....

guys, this sounds interesting. i have a 3D, which has the webastro installed, but i don't have the option on my onboard head unit.

can you tell me again - is it possible to get it activated?

Yes, I activated mine (and a bunch of other things, like bleep and flash on lock) with scanner 1.4.0.

so what did you do? buy the scanner 1.4.0? and then what?

sorry not so smart on this, i'm not even confident plugging this stuff into the car, in case it messes up the entire config!

Yes, I bought the scanner and software on ebay. Plugged it into the car and my netbook and installed the software, easy!

There's a a thread on xdrivers where we've discussed how to enable stuff - mostly the aux heating!

Where in the UK are you? We have occasional meets (I haven't been to one yet), where all sorts of stuff is discussed and people bring scanners etc.
