The on-board computer says check coolent level. Do I really need to go to dealer as they strongly recommended or can I top it off myself? If so, which one do you guys recommend? Thanks for advice! 2006 X5 3.0

Your X is covered under warranty. Just have them check it out. If you have to top it up, it's leaking out somewhere. Just let the stealer deal with it.
