Thx Avonside. Sorry but one last Q:
How did you secure the made up ring to the OEM muffler after cutting off the pipe if the clamp was used to secure the made up ring to the tip?

I am now desperate for my 20", but the company in San Diego called the other day to say it will now be april before the 4.8 replicas are in again.I just have to be a bit more patient again.
Awesome...can't wait to see it with the 20s! Hey...April is only ONE month away

The ring was made to be a tight friction fit over the stump of the OEM pipe that was left.I pushed that on first and then pushed the new tips on and tightened up the hose clamp.
The nice thing about doing it this way is that it is ultimately adjustable to get the exact position you want and that no welding is needed.

Hitch Receiver Cosmetic Insert

For what it's worth, you can split/trim the cosmetic insert to fit around the hitch receiver. Its tedious, but can be done, and once done R&R of it is very easy.

And, yes I know the receiver cosmetic "BMW" insert is 90 degrees off; its the only way I can get a tight fit with the receiver.

Thanks David,

That is exactly what i was doing this morning at work in my break.
