Headlight bulbs Problemo's......

Problemo 1: Check lowbeams message came on yesterday...my passenger lowbeam lamp is out...but when I look at the bulb the filament is still connected there's nothing loose or ratteling around inside the bulb?????

Problemo 2: Stupid me took out the passenger Hi-beam just to check it out and I knocked the side of the housing and busted the bulb...so now I have to buy a passenger Hi-beam bulb also. This makes me mad b/c I had just replaced those w/ the Silverstars a couple months ago.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a good looking non-yellow lowbeam?

I've been thinking about the Hoen Fogs..do they have a good looking lowbeam?

2002 w/ Halogens.....by the way

My alternator died (51K miles) and the first indicator was the lowbeam message. Dealership replaced the alternator but I still have the message. Didnt notice because I picked up and the sun was out so no need for lights. When I turned on the car, the message came back again....

Any ideas?

Joe2Rule..... Have you actually checked to see if your lights are working. You may have blown your bulbs when the alt. went out...surge or something???? Who knows....but when my message appeared it was b/c the bulbs were out, so that's my guess.

Good luck.

If they are out...go in on the Hoen Group Buy that's going on. I ordered a set of new Fogs and a set of new lowbeams. Same price as OEM but better looking white light from the Hoen's.

This may or may not apply: On my previous 2001 740i, the running lights had two filaments but only used one. When the vehicle is first started, the system checks for any open circuits and would see a broken filament and would say the light was bad even though the light would come on because the other filament was the one used to light the lamp.

It took forever to figure this out.
