Thinking about a 4.8 that doesnt have the OEM nav radio I want

Can you add a aftermarket headunit with nav and sat radio to the factory BMW system ?

I don't need an expensive system, just want nav and sat radio in my x5?

So change out this factory radio with a pioneer double din or eclipse unit?
And then is there anyway to have it work with controls on sterring wheel as well ?

Hold out for the options you want. Settle for less and you'll regret it for a long time. Factory NAV is a great feature worth looking for. Good luck

I would definately not ruin the look of the interior on a 4.8is ...even if I could get an aftermarket stereo setup for free! Here in Canada, all 4.6is and 4.8is come standard with nav. Worse come to worst if you're in love with a particular vehicle and getting a great deal, you could retrofit the factory nav system as some of us have done, otherwise look for another X5. Good luck.
