I am on the fence on this Alcantara interior, would love to hear some of your thoughts on it especially in terms to resale ect.

to me, this is the ONLY interior to get for the 4.8is... they are fantastic feeling and sporty, as they should be for this vehicle. I don't understand why more people don't get them, they are fantastic. In terms of resale, if I was in the used 4.8is market, I would be more inclined to pay more for one WITH the alcantara, although you will find a good deal of people who want leather and comfort seats (I can't imagine why you wouldn't just get a 4.4i if you want plush luxury)... my 2 cents

I believe automotive or upholstery grade alcantara (or ultrasuede which is its more common name) has a lower cost per sq. foot than leather. I'm not so sure it should command a price equal to that of leather.

That being said, I'd go with the Alcantara in a heartbeat. It's stain resistant and wears as good as leather. The material is great for track vehicles; it grips your butt like velcro. It's even machine washable.

Why nobody has come up with the idea of Alcantara seat covers is beyond me. I'd be first in line to buy a set.

I just test drove a 4.6is 2 weeks ago and it had it. That was the 1st time I had experienced it up close - I like it a lot!!! The vehicle was sapphire black with black interior and full titanium trim with alum. running boards......it all looked so good together!!!

This is it:

I don't like it

I didn't get it. It just doesn't look as classy and I don't think it looks all that sporty. The checker pattern doesn't do it for me. If it were all one color, that could work.

I seem to like the full leather better myself but if the deal is very good I may deal with it
