Seats Sports / Comfort
Quick question, as I am still searching for "The One" How can you tell the difference between sports and comfort seats? Also an X5 being sold as Sport Pack and Comfort Pack, what would that mean the seats are? As always, all and any help welcome. Pictures of seats would blinding!! Cheers Ben

These are comfort seats. Sport seats have a thigh bolster that extends from the seat.

Comfort seats have an articulating back rest. ie: the backrest is "hinged", which allows it to be adjusted to conform to the bend in your back. Comfort seats also have power adjustable head rests. The only downside to comfort seats, is that BMW uses the exact same bottom cushion as is used on the stock seats. imho, BMW "cheaped out" on the X5 comfort seat option by not using sport seat bottom cushions, which have additional side bolsters, and have additional thigh support.

But the sport seats can be a bit hard on the bottom after a long drive...a friend of mine with comfort seats loves them. I love the sport support on short twisty drives, though.

Yes I also thought the ride on sports was abit harsh on slow ramps (sleeping policemen).
I have not yet driven an x with Comfort seats . So can you get sports everything + Comfort Seats? Hows about the rear bench does that change at all? or E46 Sports seats Cheers B

I opted for the comfort seats in my new '06 4.4 Sport because I'll be sitting in alot more traffic back east. I have driven my '01 4.4 Sport with sport seats across country 3 times + up'n'down the east coast and never felt uncomfortable while driving 500-750 miles a day. Even day after day.
