Does anyone have any idea what this is!
Lying inside the console I found this ![]() ![]() I could not see where it went. I have no idea what it is for or what it is! can anyone shed some light on it?

It looks like a spring - the only thing that I can think of is that it is part of the rear cup holder mechanism?

@SuperGreg My X5 is shifting great no problems there
I will take a picture next to a penny and re-post - the "object" is not big at all about a inch high and half an inch wide - the center bit (black) actually slips out.. I am still puzzled! it was just lying there
