My PDC just started doing this as I rear ended someone last week. The body shop told me it could be the harness or a faulty sensor. They will know more when the replace the bumber.
I would takeback to the stealer and tell them to call you when it is working properly. |

First, clean all the sensors. Dirt on them can cause this.
Then, check all the connections. You can unplug them, and plug them back in, at each sensor. This is the most likely cause, but clean them first because that is easiest. If those steps don't change it, then you may need a replacement sensor. Also, it helps if you fill in your location, and the year of the X5. We would know if it is under warranty, for example. I suspect it isn't.

Dave,
Can you not type in shorthand? I need a calculator to read your messages. I'm not trying to rip you, so don't take offense. Sounds like a faulty sensor (probably the scratched one). Usually PDC has the opposite problems - they trigger false alarms with no nearby objects. Regards, Mike Last edited by asawadude; 04-02-2006 at 07:15 PM. |

Mike:
I have the same problem. I realize that it is me. I am just not current. I try, but I struggle. Do what I did, use the newest X5world accessory page: http://www.lingo2word.com/translate.php The message comes out like this: (OK, lingo2word doesn't know what an X is and a PDC became a domain controller, but hey, they are trying....) since i purchased my kiss the Primary Domain Controller has not worked if you put it in reverse it will beep continuously for a second or two but then nothing happens the light on the console for the Primary Domain Controller flashes one of the sensors has a scratch on it could it be this/ what could it be please help You can also use this in reverse. Following the instructions on the site: Click the Plain English to Lingo button and get this!
![]() Sorry Dave. I did try and help, post #3 above. Jeff

If its not the sensor like mine then the PDC brain has gone on the fritz. Just had mine replaced as all sensors checked out and had the continous beep with flashing light. Took them nearly 2 hours to set the system back up again so make sure they do it right!

Jeff -
Thanks so much for the help. Actually I use the Giznoogle website to translate text I don't understand: http://www.gizoogle.com/index.php?translate=false Since i bought mah X5, tha PDC hasnt worked . Bounce wit me. If you put it in reverse, it wiznill beep continuously fo` a second or twizzo, but then nuttin' happens and my money on my mind. The light on tha console fo` tha PDC flashes. One of tha sensors has a scratch on it. Could it be this? Whizzat could it be. Pleaze hizzay. I grew up in South Central L.A. so I'm down wid dis. |
