"Check Highbeam" message

I have a one month old 06 3.0i w/ xenons and for the second time since I've had it I got the "ding" and a "Check Highbeam" message in the message center. The first time (the first week I had it) they reprogrammed something. This morning the message went away after a few miles and the little arrows in the message center went away too.

Anyone else had this happen?

No, but these systems are generally resistance or voltage problems. Maybe you have a sour connector to the HID module, or from the module to the bulb on one side.

Found out what it was

Took vehicle into dealer again today. They emailed BMW and found out it was a faulty Xenon bulb. They replaced the Xenon bulb. Hopefully that solves the problem and there will be no more messages!

Had an '06 325i loaner. Love it but it seems SO SMALL! I felt like I was driving a MINI! Great build quality though (actually no better than my '06 X5) but I love the push start and the electronic turn signals. MB has had the auto lane change (push once for three "blinks") for several years.

Audi has had this for years too. Now even VW does it on the 06's. I loved it in my S4, and kinda miss it in my X.

Well it'll probably be on the new X.
