just lowerd my x again

sorry for the crappy pic...it's off my phone. anyways i got a shop to custom my h&r springs so i can lower it to the height i wanted...which is about 4.5 inches. there's no gap and i cant even put a finger between the fender and tire. ill get better pic when i pic up my digi cam from home. the ride was suprisingly ok, just waiting on my 4.6 rims to come in. i also schedule an appointment at herb chamber bmw to get the rear lower via DIS.

Woah that's low. The ride looks kind of funny raked like that.

So did your shop just cut the springs, or heat them?

To be honest, not to spoil the fun or anything, but altering your springs are not really the best way to go in any direction. Think about it, when you cut your springs, not only are you decreasing their dampening ability, but you completely destroy the initial designs of the springs the way they are supposed to work. If you heated and compressed the springs, you are killing your spring travel so that you will bottom out your car much earlier. And I don't that's is too smart of an idea when the X5 is around 5000lbs. sooner or later you may crack something in your suspension if not the area of the body where your shocks connect to the body of your car. I've seen this happen on an M3 let alone an X5...Well, just some food for thought.

Other than any damage that will occur as a result of the cut springs, that will be one hell of a slammed X5. I saw picture of a siler X5 with similar lowering all around, and it looked pretty sweet.

yea that's harry's x, his truck inspire me to get an x5. anyways my truck pass the test, i loan it to my folks yesterday to see if they notice anything when they borrow it to chinatown in boston. i was suprise they didnt notice anything. if anything i will change and put the stock shock back and call it a day. ill keep you guys posted. next week is brembo drill rotors and hawks brake pad mod.
