Clunkapalooza

For those of you with clunkers who were following this thread back in March:

http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum/...ighlight=clunk

I had a lower left front clunk with the wheel turned and I specifically asked (as someone had suggested here) the dealer to check the lower control arm bushing.

Checked and replaced under warranty. No clunk. And I swear the handling is better. And with the new windshield, my Lasik surgery appears to have been more successful than I first thought.

Glad to hear it's all fixed up. I've replaced both the sway bar links and a control arm recently on the old sport suspension setup. The frequent CLUNK or THUMP was cause by my sway bar links and the control arm made a distinct POP like when you pop your elbow or knee, but it only did that when turning to the side I needed replaced. It stressed and strained to a certain point, POPPED, then all was silent, until it came time to go through full range of motion again, then another POP.

Your X is much newer than mine, so there may be some difference there in the suspension.

Annoying as hell, wasn't it? Nice to have that out of the way so you can hear the roar of the engine undisturbed!
