What is the point of your posts?

Dear x54.4blue-

It has become clear through your pattern of posting that you prefer bone-stock vehicles. Hurray for you, as that's your prerogative. As you may have noticed, many members of forums such as this use these messageboards to help one another learn about what mods work well, what to do and not to do when installing mods.

Questions such as yours are not constructive, nor are they helpful. They must make you feel good, or else you would not continue to post them. However, I'd ask you to consider--before posting in the future--the following question: "Does what I'm about to type add in any helpful way to this discussion?" If it does not, then I for one would like to encourage you to move on to the next thread.

Thanks for reading this. Enjoy your stock X5.

-Dave

....when will the madness stop. This guy adds no value to threads what so ever. I thought this was a place to share knowledge and enjoyment about something 99.999% of us luv doing. I would suggest that x54.4blue start a anti-modding site somewhere else like.....hum........Mars ......Just my 2cents........Phil

Modifications for a reason

I am not anti modification.

I do believe that if you make a modification it needs to produce a positive benefit.

My neighbor has a diesel truck and he had a whole modification done that included changes to the computer supercharger and exhaust system. The result is a large increase in performance and a little more noise. This is a modification that has clear benefit..

When I was a little boy I mount baseball cards on my bike that caused it to make noise. After a while I grow-up and realized it was a silly childish thing to do.

If the reason you are changing your exhaust system is just to make noise, I guess you’re still just a little boy at heart (grow-up).

Here is my question....if you paint a room in your house, is that a useless mod? The house may gain no value, but it's what I....note the I.....(want).
I think everyone here should do to his or her X what they desire. Now, if x54.4blue would like to lick the stamps and mail the payments,we all have to stop modding and .....Phil
Oh yeah....this is my last post on this topic. This is a resonator post not a give x54.4blue some attention post

If you want to change the color of your room or X5 to hot pink or any other color that s your right and even though I might see the benefit it does not matter.

If on the other hand you want to modify your exhaust system just to make more noise, I think it is different. This change impacts others and produces pollution. As Americans we live in a land were our personnel freedom needs to be balance by the impact on others. I am American and believe in my right of free speech.

Just to annoy you. We "dumbass rednecks" have tendency to do that.

I ran one of my Vettes wit LG long tub headers, NO cats (gassy ) and Borla Xr1 cannons out the back. GASP! The horror!!!

Now I have to take off my resonator off on the X5 and get her louder!

I'll start by saying I am a child, my wife reminds me of that every day . Next I can't wait to tear off that factory exhaust from my one week old X5. Just not enough noise for my taste, power gains be damned, I just want some great sounding V8 noise. State and local governments already have noise ordinances, if it is such a problem those ordinances should be made more restrictive.
