Get someone to help with this test to see if they work:

Put the key in position 1
Turn on the headlights
Stand in front of the X while someone else pulls the wiper stalk back to activate the windshield washer
Every 5 times you activate the windshield washer, the headlamp washers are supposed to turn on, so if they aren't working by the 6th time you turn on the windshield washers, you have issues. Make sure the headlights are on.

That S for Special button should do it. You said they didn't turn on when you did that, so you need to try what I suggested to make sure they're working properly, then chase down a fuse, short, etc if they're not.

Also make sure to top up your washer fluid. My X stops washing the headlights if level is apprx. below 25%.

this is good to know. i've been usually very liberal with my window washing as i do go up to tahoe quite often (dirty windows).

i will fill up first then proceed with testing. WITH lights on. =) thx fellas.

IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE THE LIGHTS ARE ON! I know this has been mentioned, but they will not work unless the headlights are on.
