Anyone else hear about the Dinan rebate fiasco yet?

Dinan is sending letters to everone that bought parts and sent in the rebate form for the 20% off. the letter states that The purchase reciept is not good enough for the rebate. They now want a reciept that the part was installed by the dealer in order for you to get the rebate. Thats bullshit. Anyone else here about this?

They can't change the terms of the rebate AFTER the fact. This is worth a class action if they try to enforce this.

I agree with aus. The receipt of action means both parties agreed on the terms, they can't come back later. It is like you coming back later and saying "I found this cheaper, give me the difference."

As a matter of fact many retailers have a price matching guarantee that allow you to do exactly that. But that's besides the point.

I agree Dinan is being very dishonest in changing the terms of the rebate after you make the claim.

Wow. If that's accurate info., it doesn't sound fair (or right) to me.

I agree with WagnerX5's take: After completed performance, one party can not unilaterally add additional previously undisclosed terms or conditions that were not part of the original basis of the bargain.

And your take is spot on, too: Sounds like Dinan is trying to avoid paying customers their rebates.
