Auto Door Lock

Need help. Remember my X5 will lock all the doors after it reaches 5~10 mph. Lately, it didn't do it anymore. Is this something I can do thru the remote or do I have to take it back to dealer? Btw, it's 02 X5. Thanks & enjoy this forum since make the switch from ML to X5 (my wife still have the ML though)
TIA

That feature is something that I believe can only be activated/deactivated by the dealer. Many dealers charge for changing the configuration after the vehicle has been initially programmed and delivered to the owner. However, given that it once worked and has quit, I would ask them to correct it at no charge.

Mine has been glitchy for its entire life: my fob does Not have the auto lock; myWife's does. When she uses her key, it usually reverts back to auto lock even when I use my key for a few days/times after her fob's use. Weird, but I live with it.

As MrUCrew said, if you orig "order" was for locking, the Stlr should reprogram key(s) for N/C. GL,md

Thanks for your help. It's strange though cause it was working fine a week or so ago. What caused that? I was hoping I can do it thru the remote like ML. I am away from my home town delaer & won't be back for a long time. The car is out of factory warranty even though I have a extened warranty (It wouldn't help, in this case). Damn. Hope they come up a software for that! It's computer age, right?

You could have a bad/defective module in your X5. I would bring it back to the dealer and have them double check.

if it stopped doing it - your dealer should look at it for free.

Otherwise... I know Crevier BMW in Southern Ca charges $150 to reprogram
