Yeah, you are right. Land Rovers aren't any fun at all. That is my Land Rover that was driven about 1400 miles, then taken on some of the toughest trails in Moab, UT and driven back home with no problems whatsoever. I'd like to see that with any BMW.

To compare Land Rovers to BMW X5s is foolish. They aren't in the same category at all. All Land Rovers were designed to be driven on road and off road. The X5 is purely a on road vehicle. I love my X5 for the way it drives on the road. My Land Rover is a POS in comparison. I don't expect that my Land Rover will be good onroad, it wasn't designed for that.

As far as reliability goes, I'm not sure if BMW is any better. I've had more issues with my 01 X5 than the 97 Land Rover.
