2004 X5 problems anyone have the same issues with theirs

I am new to this board so forgive me if my problems are common. But I need help. My dealer will do nothing about them. I will list them in order because there are many. Also it is a 4.4 sport with 5k miles

1. My stereo reception sucks and I do not have tinted windows.

2. sometimes my X5 idles fine and sometimes it idles really rough almost enough to staul out. also it has long starts sometimes.

3. There is a loud clunking noise coming from the front of the X5 when backing up and turning wheel to lock. Then recently I started hearing the clunking when driving aggressiviley in a corner.

4. My transmissions shifts very rough sometimes. Either when downshifting or when steping on the accelerator it gets confused and does shift right away then it violently downshifts into a lower gear.

5. over 100mph I get a loud whistling noise coming from the front end sounds like wind noise.

6. I have adjustable ride hight and it seems very low in the front and high in the back. In the lowest position the front fender is almost on the tire and the back is about 3 inches from fender. It does not look right.

7. When unlocking the doors using the button on the key my alarm goes off.

I know it is a lot of problems. But I am wondering if anyone elso out there has had similar problems and what they di to correct them. I just spent 65K on my X5 and think it is bullcrap that I am having these problems. and the fact that My dealer says it is all normal makes it worse. I have always owned M3s M5s and M6s and feel that there were built better. Maybe because the X5 was built in the USA. I love my X5 but if they cant correct these problems i will not be getting another one.
Thanks for any help in advance.

as you can probably tell from my other thread, i'm not a huge fan of BMWNA, but it can't hurt to call them. But I would first start by making a request through your local dealer for the regional guy to take a look.

I have a 2004 4.4 sport and the only similar problem I have is the alarm going off when unlocking the car with the remote. I'm bringing it to the dealer Monday for its first service inspection and I've also asked them to look into the alarm problem for me. It happens infrequently so I hope they can find it and correct it. I'll let the board know how it turns out.

I am not an expert per se, but, none of those problems sounds "normal." Furthermore, the fact that your dealer is telling you that is troubling. As mentioned before, contact another dealer, a regional, of BMWNA.

Sorry to hear about your problems, and I hope they get resolved. We have a lot of incredibly knowledgeable folks in this forum, and if there is anything they can do to help, I have no doubt that they will. All I can offer is moral support, I am afraid. Good luck, and keep us updated.

Juan

Thanks for the support. I am going to try to get a factory rep down to my dealer and talk to him. Is there anyone else out there with any of my problems though. Just wondering.

I had a simular problem with the transmission. A warning message came up "trans fail mode". The dealer had to call the factory and have a laptop sent to update the trans computer program. I've had no further problem since.
