|
Angel eyes wired to the fogs. Now they blink 10 times when the key is turned on.
They are DEPO LEDs. I notice that the LED plate lights on the back flicker too. Any ideas?

thats normal that how my x5 is too and my led reverse lights flicker sometimes when in park....and my cousins e90 325i his fog lights flicker too when he starts the car...i think its just normal

Pulsing quick power that isn't enough to light up regular bulbs is how the lighting control module checks all the lighting circuits to tell you there is a bulb out. It is doing it's own resistance checks to make sure it sees continuity. The LED bulbs take such little power to light up that they flash during this.

Something else weird is that if I turn the low beams and fogs (with AEs connected), the self level susp inactive comes on. It's happened around 4 out of 10 times. I had never seen that message until I hooked up the AEs. If I wait until the 10 blinks are done, the message does not come up.

Now that is weird... but it doesn't surprise me with the way all the electronics intertwine in these things.

I bought one of those $25 angel eye remote kits on eBay and it works awesome...AE's come on/off dimming with the dome lights and come on immediately once the X is started. Completely worth it.
As for LED's, I installed LED's and resistors into every single bulb that was available for change on the exterior of a customers 750iL. They look great, but I've never been able to stop the flash, which to me is absolutely embarrasing while driving down the road. To this day, once the car is up and running, the left and right blinker flash intermittently, then both reverse lights. I've yet to find a way to shutoff the LKM bulb check to fix this problem.
