Exhaust Help???

Hey guys I'm itching to put a new exhaust on the X. Its a 01 4.4, What are some choices I have? I know of Denon,Remus, and SuperSprint, I am looking for something with a nice growl to it . Does anyone have any experiences with these brands or another brand that I dont know of? Also would it be best to let my local dealer install? or take it to a muffler shop, around here there arent many reputable shops around here that work on exotics(Bmw,MB,Audi,Etc. Etc.) Any help will be greatly appriciated

Exhausts upgrade

Dinan are very good as well as Eisenmann and Remus....For are really deep growl you may want to consider the Eisenmann Race or the Dinan. The Reumus are also very good for a nice sound and cheaper on the pocket....

In addition to the ones you mentioned, you may want to consider just replacing the resonator with an X-pipe or straight pipe. ALOT cheaper, completely reversible. There are a bunch of threads regarding both options, just run a search. Another option is a complete custom exhaust. I removed the factory system from the cat-back and replaced with a magnaflow muffler. I have pics and a sound clip posted on my webpage, probably louder than what you're looking for, but an option nonetheless.
Hope this helps.

Good Luck! and keep us posted.

Thanks guys, ekaz I checked out your page and the sound clip... That sounds amazing that is what I am looking for , can you give me more details , how much was the install? what size piping did you use? My friend has a Denali with a Corsa Sport dual exhaust on it and it sounds very similar to that(actually yours sounds a lot meaner). I WANT THAT SOUND!!!

Here are the details:
Not much louder at all, but sounds better, the raspiness that was there under acceleration and revving is gone. Just a nice deep rumble.
My exhaust is: from engine to cats, to muffler, out the back......

Muffler: Flowmaster 50 series dual inlet/outlet (524554). Info on Summit Racing website NOTE on the mufflers, the OEM ones are HEAVY!
Tips: Magnaflow (35167) Info on Magnaflows website

Parts and install put me right around $500. I'll get pics and sound clips up as soon as I can.

Here's the thread, the first few pages are OK and then the thread took a turn for the worse.

Let me know if there is anything else......

So you just re-used the factory exhaust and just put on 2 new mufflers? I'm kinda confused, or did your shop make new custom pipes from your catalitic to the mufflers?

The muffler has dual-inlets/outlets, the stock mufflers were removed.
My exhaust setup is:

Engine to cats. to muffler and out the back.

No problem, glad I could help. Let me know if there is anything else. However, if you do end up spending the other $1200.00 and get the Eisenmann, Drex has it on his X and it sounds good as well.
