Weird Question...

i'm sure i will be the ONLY one who has experienced this...anyway, here it goes:

dh and i were driving in my X when all of a sudden, through the speakers of the radio, a two way radio came through.
it happened TWICE!!!!!

i almost crapped my pants. i NEVER experienced that in my life. i asked my husband if he had. his reponse, "uhm, NO!"

was this some sort of freak thing that happend?

Were you listening to AM or FM? I have had interference on AM albeit not on the X5 stereo but on a regular stereo.

we were listening to FM. it was really weird, too. we're talking and the radio is playing in the background, then all of a sudden, we hear the interference.

My suggestion is to wear a hat made of aluminum foil and hold a wire coat hanger in your left hand. It should ward off the alien mind control signals. :p

Seriously, maybe you were near something that was giving off massive EMF or a radio tower.

When I had my Grand Cherokee, every time I had the radio on 99.1WHFS and drove past a Dodge dealership near my house, the dealership's paging system would interfere. I'd switch my radio station to 99.1 each time I drove past there and sure enough, it would interfere!

Yeah, it depends on which station you're tuned into and the location of the 2-way radio's transmitter to you. I won't get into all the weird shizzle I've experienced with regard to radio reception/transmission, but your story seems pretty normal, Mari.

In a related story, not too long ago as I was stuck on the NJ Turnpike in traffic, I tuned in to 87.9 and stole Howard Stern from a trucker who was listening to Sirius. As long as I stayed within 500 feet of him, the X5 tuned that Sirius right in

He must have had one of the FM modulator systems to send XM to his FM. He was essentially a low-powered XM terrestrial transmitter!

Yep heard of it before. Had it happen before. Just don't be surprised if the radio broadcast is about you coming from Mr. Blue
