Lakeshore selling OEM Style 132's

I noticed on Lakeshore's website that they had 2 different sets of Style 132 wheels in their inventory, with different prices:

594471F 19 X 9 $295
594481F 19 X 10 $325

BMW-242-19-F 19 X 9 $225
BMW-242-19-R 19 X 10 $225

According to Jon at Lakeshore, the first set (594471F/594481F) are BMW OEM wheels. The bottom set are replicas. The OEM wheels do not include lugs and caps; the replicas do include these items.

The 2005 BMW Accessories catalog shows the retail prices of the OEM wheels at $520 and $530 front and rear.

That's a pretty damn good discounted price on NEW OEM wheels, even cheaper than used sets of OEM Style 132 wheels on eBay.

That is a great point - I didn't think of that. I'll have to check with them if the OEM rims are used. There is no mention of whether or not these are new or used in their website.

Since they dont normally deal with OEM rims, usually the only way they acquire them is through trade-ins. Most places will refurbish them, and sell them at a discounted rate...You just have to weigh the savings against the compromise in quality...Sometimes it is actually worth it...

Sounds like he would have sold you the wheels without telling you they were used and refinished. Good thing you asked.

I sent an email to Jon at Lakeshore asking for a clarification. I'll post his response tomorrow.

Some of the other folks here who have dealt with Lakeshore know they sell used OEM wheels. But it is disappointing that the information is not disclosed directly on their website.

Lakeshore actually offers a very good price as long as the wheels are true and the curb rash removed. These wheels will be on my consideration list.

They NEVER tell you voluntarily..And in most cases you wouldnt be able to tell until your wheels start pitting in a couple months...Actually you should be much better with "refurbed" OEM's than new replicas...
