[Q] Part No. for '04+ OEM decorative skid plated

IMHO this rounds out and thickens the nose of the OEM bumper cover/moulding which I personally find to be a bit skimpy when compared to the front of a CayanneS for example.

I wasn't aware that this part was available for the later model X5 but according to this image of Rob_'s X5 it is. Curious if anyone has a part no. as my dealer has grown incompitent since they were taken over by BMW corporate..

Thanks,
Josh

Also call Creiver BMW ask for Vaheh - though he is about 5%+ more on his wholesale prices.

Somewhere in this thread, somebody says the plastic skid plate won't fit the 4.6 and 4.8is models.

Description for the item states it needs to be painted - what color does it come from the factory?? All the ones I have ever seen have been titanium (silver), so I was just wondering if this was the production color of it or is it just a coincidence that silver is the only color I have seen.

The other reason for asking this is I am trying to decide since I have a white X, whether I would keep it silver to make it look like it is metallic or paint it white to match the vehicle - obviously I have some concerns painting it white with it being located up front and under the vehicle.

For what its worth I think you should keep it the same as body colour, I dont think it will look 'mettallic' just tacky . Also suggest you 3M it after.
