hi,,

well i am kinda of confused here,my X5 is now on the 10800 Km(6710 Miles0 and i was thinking of changing the engine oil so i checked it and it was at the Min level but the oil inspection light is still off,,,but here is the thing my car was dried of battery a few weeks ago but a friend here helped me with it and used a scanner for the computer to resolve it ,so could the oil inspection be off?how long will i be able to run on the minimum??

From the factory I believe the interval is 15,000 miles (24000 kilometers). If you are worried, just go ahead and change the oil now. I don't think you can change the oil to 'frequently'.

It is a prudent decision to change the oil & filter once between every "oil service." While good synthetics can reach 15k miles without trouble, it is really pushing the limits of the oils, especially if you are driving lots of short distances, in cold weather, etc. By changing every 7500 miles you are eliminating any concern the oil may not make the 15k interval and start to sludge or varnish.

Thats what i do, every 7500 miles, and best of all, im about ot reach my 50K mark, and i asked my service guy about not resetting it blah blah so he gave me a free oil change when it was in the middle of my 15k and before i get to 50 ill get another one also, NOW, the only thing i am thinking about is the warrenty should i or should i not? an di have only 2500 miles left to decide too........
