4.6 Rear Trim on 2004 4.4

I'm confused. I've read the threads and some say you have to change your rear flares when installing the 4.6is lower bummper trim on a 4.4 and other say you don't. Which is it?

You dont have to !I have done it on mine.
Its your option if you like the flared look but not mandatory...I for one like the look without.
