Only the pass mirror dips. As far as I know the drivers side cant be dipped. The idea is that you can see the pavement on the pass side and other cars on the drivers side.

Actually there must be a way to do it as for a period after we got the X both mirrors dipped in reverse. Remember the DS mirror in the US in the PS mirror in UK etc.
It took a seat memory software upgrade to fix the problem. It must be in the program somewhere to allow for the UK etc.
