The 4.8is simulates more like manual and that's why you notice the shifting. The gas pedal is very responsive.
TB will not come close to 4.8is's 0-60.

I guess it would come down to the driver as most official test results that I have read put the X5 at 5.9 0-60, and the TBSS at 5.7 0-60. It really doesn't matter to me, just published numbers I have seen.

I changed all the interior lights, backup bulbs, side markers, and license plate bulbs to white leds, rear turn signals to amber leds, and replaced the rear light assembly with a smoked led assembly. I'm literally in the process of clearing out my turn signals and installing a set of umnitza predator chromium angel eyes but I had to go to work (also one of the rings broke during installation but my boy Nick @ Jlevisw.com has a replacement on the way!).

Is there anything left to do!!?? I hope I can think of nothing because I've definitely spent well over $9000 between the $2300 spent at the dealer the 1st week, $2600 on the rims the second, $2500 on the extended warranty from carchex.com, $700 on the brakes, and all this other extra stuff. DAMN! I didnt realize it while I was spending. Anyway, as long as I'm happy, right? Check out my Lincoln LS 5spd too. The guy in the picture is the guy I sold it to, not me but as you can see, I was even back then an aspiring BMW owner.

Of course after saying all that I cant the pics I have are too big right? Well at least you'll see my first love Kitt (the Lincoln LS). I'll post pics of Brawn (my new X) later but that's him under my name.

Not yet. Had some more work done though. Rear control arms, radio, and driver's door handle replaced $1500 (smartautowarranty.com covered about $1000 of the repairs).

That whole angel eye thing from jlevi was a fiasco. The $200 angel eye kit they sent me was identical to a kit I bought from ebay for $50(+$20s&h) down to the packaging.

I took out the led turn signals because even with resistors, I couldnt get the fast blink to go away and it was driving me crazy. I still have led side markers and the chrome-amber turn signal bulbs front and rear. The front signals are cleared out with the angel eyes and I did complete the hid foglight conversion.

I know its a sacrilege to BMW purists but oh well, oh well. I changed the front and rear roundels to M\\\ emblems and the shifter to a satin aluminum M\\\ shifter (I have a 5 spd manual). I took off the 3.0 off the front fenders and replaced them with M\\\ emblems as well (I can already hear the purists calling for my crucification now).

Too bad for the purists. 1st of all BMW should have 1) made an X5M (an MX5 would've been a Miata, ha,ha) , 2) should have made it with a true manual transmission, and 3) made it look just like mine. At the very least they could've let the V8 come with a stick. And now the E70 is completely devoid of a manual! BMW sucks! I'm buying a wagon next (unless they stop offering manuals in that...)

Didnt do the dash pieces yet. I'll have some pictures coming real soon. Thanks for your interest.

i pewrsonally think its a good idea from BMW stand point to up the sales of the M-badge because it does stand for performance, styling, individuality and when you paying the dough for a high end X5 or X6 why not slap the badge on, there are amg ML63, they aint burnt for doing that!

Bro, i totally agree that they should have made a M-series for the X brand, but saying it should look like yours, that was my disagreement. No offense to your car, it looks nice but its should have look like the lemans X5 and built the performance around the e39 6sp so its still affordable.

Oh ok. Got you. I wasnt feeling myself when I made my comment about it looking like mine. I just meant it should have had something like the aero kit (or Lemans) to give it some shoulders and visual oomph with led taillights and angel eyes with cleared corners to make it stand out from the pack. A performance brake package and some nice wheels to show off the hardware would only enhance the look. I definitely like the Lemans kit though.

So many people have stopped me to ask if I'd imported my X5M from Germany and how could they get one. BMW dropped the ball on the performance X5... at least so far...
