Mine's been trouble free and maintenance free to this point (90K miles). I haven't heard of too many people having problems with it.

No anyone share an idea? May be i can assume that air-suspension has trouble free (cold climate) ? but in hot climate here i heard many said about its durability.

The system on earlier cars like the 7ser. generally lasted into the 100-150k range. It's not a " must have " option if you are worried about it.

Thank you "Cleaner". Would U like to told me any kind of papers or webs to read it? That's about 100-150 K miles or km? I concern it because my X5 has four corner air-springs and it'd already gone one in only 50 K miles ,not enough yet, the mechanic at the stealer told me the other front one 'll gone in nearly future too.

It's 100-150 Miles. I know of no documents online about the subject, my opinion is based on my experience. I have 18 years in the BMW parts and Service game. What system is failing? Is it the air bag, shock or the pump or something else? In general the earlier systems have shock failures and not electrical failures. Shock Failures are a result of the conditions the vehicle is subjected to.
For example I live in Northern California and the climate and roads are mild. I have not seen any X5 shock or air bag failures. I am not sure what the road condition are in your part of Thailand but that is very likely part of the reason you are seeing early failure of the suspension. My opinion is what you are seeing is not a characteristic of the X5, but a result of road or environmental conditions. |

do you know the reason why the parts were replaced?
i'm guessing the issues with humidity are playing a large factor here. the air suspension, as with any air powered device, uses a compressor. naturally all the moisture in the air is sucked in as well and could have corroded some of the seals and other parts in the system. with standard air compressors, you need to drain the water out periodically and i don't see a place for that in the x5 system. |

I'm agree with The cleaner and hayaku that the failure of air-spring may be from environment factors. Hot , humidity, bad road 're common here. But if this suspection is true why no one known this caution?
Well, in a next few days i'll take a photograph of damaged air-spring . |
