Whistle Clive

THE INViSiON DVD Headrest system is coded NTSC and PAL (Automatic Detection)

It will play UK formatted DVD's. The system can play DVD,DVD-R,DVD-RW,Super Audio CD, CD-R,CD-RW, MP3, and MP4's.

It is a 64x Speed DVD which is faster than most DVD players found in most home theater applications. It is of the highest quality possible and we sell hundreds of kits daily. Please let me know if you have anymore questions so I can line you up with a dealer who can get you product.

Thanks,

Talking CLive

Clive,

The system as set for Automatic Detection between NTSC (USA) and PAL (European) formats. If you insert a european dvd. Like an Ali G DVD, It will automatically detect that it is coded PAL format and play perfectly fine on the Revolution System.

So if you want to call that multi-region then you can call it that. I can also have the system coded for your specific region, but if I do that it won't play NTSC format (USA DVD's).

So if you purchase a standard system it will play both USA and European formats.

Hope this was helpful.

key power. Any cold soure that will shut off with the vehicle.

There is a cable under the drivers seat of every X5 and X3 called XLR power cable.

It is an accessory cable for BMW DVD system. You can tap directly into that or you can use the cigarette power adapter. Every Revolution system comes with 12v power adapter (T-Tap) and cigarette light adapter.

I am also in the UK and have been looking for a multi region in car system for a while. You have explained that the players sees both NTSC and PAL formats but that is not the issue that concerns me, it is the region coding that is always a problem with USA sourced products, they are always set to region 1 and they may be multi format they are normally coded only for the USA unfortunately, you mention the AliG dvd plays but there are some disc that are uncoded but they tent to be music dvd's.I spoke to vizualogic recently about this exact issue and although they sell their products both in europe and the US they could not supply me with a multi region coded player, they say its technically illegal. Here in England nearly all good home dvd players are multi region and the coding issue seems to have slipped away thank goodness. Most of us who are avid home cinema addicts have disc from all over the place and it is such a pain when all US sourced equipment will only play region 1.

Red face Booyakasha!

Like the good ol' MCP from TRON, I am aware.

The dvd players in your region are actually coded region 0 and convert any and all other formats to region 0 so they can play on your dvd players. I specifically bought an Ali G dvd from a website in England to test this. My Ali G DVD will not work in any dvd player I own except the REV 2 sitting on my desk at work.

(Can't put one in my car because I usually ride my crotch rocket to work REPSOL HONDA CBR600RR.)

SO I will consult my tech on Monday and ask him exactly what you have asked and I will have a more definitive answer for you Monday morning. Thanks for your patience and inquiry.
