Trunk Lid Open Warning
You've probably all seen this before: I intermittently get a "Trunk Lid Open" message and have to re-slam the lid for it to go away. The trunk appears to be adjusted properly and not making noise. How can I find out the location/adjustment of the sensor? I did a search but no luck. I know many people have had this problem. Thanks. |

Common problem. If you're still under warranty, dealer should fix at no charge. I had mine done twice. Water gets in the rear latch assembly so it has to be replaced with a 'newer' design. (So the dealer says
)They had to paint the trim piece along the BMW emblem as well and replace the latch. |

Trunk Lid Open Warning
It's a 2001 and no longer under warranty. Is this the latch on the lower lid? Maybe I can remove it and clean it.

Look inside the lic. plate lights, if you see water you can try to dry it out, but they are hard to service. I got one to work for about 6 months.
