Facelift tail light conversion

Current spec is X5 3.0 2002 model. What do I need to change for the facelift tail light conversion? rear bonnet? light switch? wiring harness? Any part number would be great.
Thanks

I checked ETK there is a facelift taillamp upgrade. But I found they have a different part number for the rear trunk lid too. I dunno if the design is different.

The newer model features adaptive braking taillights. It has an extra bulb that illuminates under hard braking. Otherwise they are almost identical. If you park an '00-'03 X5 next to an '04-06' X5, you wouldn't see the differences in the taillights unless you were specifically looking for them. The lens of the new light is a little bit of a brighter red and perhaps a little clearer in the clear portion, otherwise they look identical.

Yup, thats the biggest difference, they look clearer. Not a significant enough of a change to swap out though IMO.

I did this mod about a week ago. Just trim the little black vertical pieces of plastic (about 1/4 inch piece) above the wiring harness connector on the new tails (you'll see the part that iterferes with the install if u try to put the new tails in). Put them in with the same 3 screws you removed from the old ones and your done,
