Sterling Gray with Truffle Brown Leather

This combination is not supposed to exist according to their web site and brochure. Yet I saw a new 2006 in a dealer lot setup this way. I even have a cell phone pic of the windows sticker and VIN. IMO it's a nice looking color combination. I'll call the dealer and see what the story is.

Having had a Sterling 530i, I bet it's gorgeous...different, but 1000X better than the standard cookie-cutter Sterling over Black.

I just got off the phone with my sales guy. While not published this color combination is "available".

Wild grassy knoll theory: They have more Truffle interiors in inventory than they thought they would, and in about 90 days they won't have any E53s to stuff them into, so they are blowing them out vis a vis offering them in anything they can shove out the factory doors. I'll bet Sterling/Truffle is beautiful. Tempting.

My thoughts exactly and it is indeed a VERY tempting combination.

When I was looking for my 2005 4.4 about 9 months ago, I saw a Sterling/Truffle on the lot at a Houston dealer... I remember thinking the same thing -- That's not supposed to be available?! It looked OK, but I got the Sterling/Gray Leather combo instead. I do like how they use black on the floor, dash and doors -- essentially everything but the leather on the truffle interiors. I would have definitely ordered that option if I could get it with gray leather.
