how to remove trim on sides of front windshield

Hi All
Can anyone tell me how to remove the interior trim on each side of the windshield. Also I know I am slow but what does HPS mean on the plastic piece.

HPS=Head Protection System. Not sure how to remove those trim pieces, probably clipped in somehow. I'm sure someone around here has done it.
